Deployment Plan Page

This section of the website makes you aware of our work on the deployment plan trial. During this time a consultation for all staff is in place to try and establish what members concerns are.

For this reason it is vital all staff get involved in its development. We must take feedback from staff to the management so we can structure a good outcome.

It is also important to highlight that UNISON has not ‘signed up’ to this plan. Instead, we have agreed only to participate in a trial system with a fixed end date in order to establish a good level of feedback from our members.

Feedback or views should be emailed to deployment@eastamb.nhs.uk which will be reviewed by us and management and HR. Your views can be anonymous but please do include your county of work to help us refine the issues.

The first thing to do it read the Draft Policy below. Then read the Q&A sheet which has been compiled to address some of the initial concerns. The importance of staff involvement in this policy development cannot be underestimated.

UNISON has and always will strongly oppose any form of deployment in which our members are located to roadside standbys. We have taken the decision to remain involved in the consultation process because we then remain able to help structure its process in relation to the effects on our members. Simply walking away from this policy would be hugely detrimental and allow the Trust to implement unlimited changes.

Depending on what area you work in, you may have completed a pre-written objection letter which has been available on some stations. Unfortunately, this letter has not been written by staff side and does not constitute an involvement with the consultation. Petitions of this type are not helpful to us in gaining your individual and personal views of the plan which carry far more weight than a prepared letter. As such, we urge you to convey your concerns over dynamic deployment through the proper channels with are explained below even if you have signed one of these unaffiliated letters.

If membership opinion is strong then we will need to reconsider our entire approach to the deployment plan which again highlights the importance of staff communicating to us. The two staff side leads for the Deployment Plan Group are Kevin Risley and Barry Jarvis.
