Colleagues,
On Tuesday 9th August I met with Alan Murray, Director of Service Delivery and Tracey Leghorn, Associate Director of HR to discuss the dynamic deployment of Ambulance resources between the hours of 0200 and 0600 in the morning. It has been highlighted that, operational management believe that we as a Trust dip in performance markedly between these hours.
I expressed the Branch opinion that this went against the Standard Operational Guideline which has been operational since May 2009 and states that response posts are not to be used after 0200hrs. I voiced my opinion that I am not happy to go against an agreed SOG as I have real concerns that any arrangement would further degrade staff morale (if there’s any left), after consultation with fellow Branch officers we have withdrawn any support for any such deviation from the SOG and I have written to management to underline the Branch stance. It was decided at a Staff Partnership Forum meeting held on Friday 5th August that there was to be no deviation from the SOG and this meeting was attended by operational management as well as staff side.
This further underlines two points firstly that the management will do anything to undermine staff welfare and secondly that your Branch will consult with each other and work for the benefit of our members and staff Trust wide
